Who It Is For
Qualification
Carolina Academy Certificate of Completion (not an NVQ or overseas licence).
A Carolina Academy Certificate of Completion stating 30 guided training hours. It is not an NVQ award, a UAE government licence or a substitute for a recognised external lifeguard qualification.
Duration
5 training days (30 guided hours)
5 training days × 6 guided hours, with up to 2 extra practice days where needed. Typical batch: 10–15 candidates. Start dates to be confirmed.
Curriculum
Based on Carolina Academy's programme proposal. Exact swim distances, time limits, tread-water duration, retrieval depth, CPR requirements and examination sequence must be confirmed with the employer or external examining body before enrolment and final assessment.
Practical Training
Approximately 20% theory and 80% practical training. Training is planned at suitable pool facilities at Carolina Beach Resort, Chilaw, subject to operational approval. The programme requires a pool with deep-water access, a qualified lifeguard/rescue instructor, a qualified First Aid/CPR instructor, rescue equipment and CPR/AED trainer equipment.
Venue: Suitable pool facilities at Carolina Beach Resort, Chilaw, Sri Lanka (subject to operational approval)
Assessment
Planned internal assessment of about 20% theory and 80% practical covering swim and tread-water tests, rescue, First Aid, CPR and emergency scenarios. Essential swimming, rescue and resuscitation skills are mandatory pass items — failure in a critical safety competency cannot be offset by a high overall score. Candidates who pass may receive a Carolina Academy Certificate of Completion stating the 30-hour training duration.
